At Douglas, we strive to enrich the lives of our employee owners. To achieve that mission, we have a consistent focus on helping employee owners grow through many training and education opportunities – both internal and external. There are programs to help our team members set career goals and lay out plans to achieve them. When positions are available, we strive to present the opportunities to internal resources first.

Training

There are many training opportunities for employee owners interested in growth. They focus on both personal and professional growth and cover a wide variety of topics and technical skills from personality styles to dealing with grief to communicating with your kids and so much more.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

These trainings are offered monthly and focus on developing individuals in their professional career. Some recent topics include how to work with different personality styles, time management and project management.

LUNCH & LEARNS

Participants are invited to bring their lunch and spend some time learning about various topics from goal setting to estate planning to building better relationships with your family.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS

Douglas offers various leadership development programs such as the Douglas Leadership Academy, an emerging leader training program offered to select applicants. We also offer various programs to develop new leaders once they promote into a leadership role and to help them acclimate to their new management position. Additionally, existing leaders have access to advanced leadership development programs.

TECHNICAL SKILLS & TRAINING CENTER

Employee owners have access to our dedicated training center where they can expand their knowledge in areas such as equipment operation and maintenance.

Tuition Reimbursement

Douglas offers tuition reimbursement to employee owners who wish to continue their education. This reimbursement for qualiying programs optimizes employee development and enhances their ability to contribute to the future success of their company.

Advancement Opportunities

Employee owners can pursue opportunities within Douglas in a couple of different ways. They may apply for open positions where they feel their skills can contribute to the success of the team. We also have many positions that have progressions laid out so that as individuals advance their skills, experience and knowledge, they can be rewarded with new opportunities.
