more than a job ... love your career

Safety

An important way we enrich lives is by keeping our employee owners, customers and other guests safe. We focus on safety every day in everything we do. We’re dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment and are committed to an incident- and injury-free workplace.

Training

To ensure we’re all staying current on the latest and best practices and standards in regards to safety, all employee owners participate in safety training courses on a regular basis.

Reimbursements

Reimbursements are available to employees required to wear specific protective equipment. There are programs available for the purchase of safety shoes and prescription safety glasses.

Keeping Safety Fun

The Safety Team is always active. Employee owners who join the team share videos, updates and the weekly “Hazard Hunt” game to keep their coworkers informed and engaged.

Safety DIPs

Continued innovation and improvement is important to ensure ongoing safety. The Douglas Improvement Projects (DIPs) program is designed to identify areas of opportunity and correct them. A specific segment focuses on safety, and participants can even win prizes!
